Pietrapertosa and Castelmezzano

The small town of Pietrapertosa and Castelmezzano are considered among the Italian Most Beautiful Villages. Here you will walk between the houses, set among the rocks, and make fascinating historical and natural excursions. You will taste the tipical gastronomy and enjoy the beautiful panorama from a new angle: it will be a view that usually is a privilege only of the winged creatures.

The Lucanian Dolomites

In the middle of Basilicata, as giants emerged from the sea, rise the imposing Lucanian Dolomites, with spectacular spiers and shapes that suggested names as the golden eagle, the anvil, the great mother, the little owl.

The mountains emerged during the middle Miocene 15 million years ago. The sandstone rocks were formed under the sea. The higher group of mountains is called the Little Dolomites: a marvel of nature. >> Discover the Dolomites
